The OneSixty API is for anyone who would like to automate the sending and receiving of Standard Rate SMS, WAP Push SMS, Premium Rate SMS and MMS.

We provide you with the API completely free of charge and all you need is your OneSixty username and password (you can optionally set a different password for the API). The OneSixty API makes use of the language-independent HTTP and HTTPS protocols, meaning that it can be called from several programming languages.

We strongly recommend that you connect to the API via our domain name: www.onesixty.co.uk, rather than an IP address. The reason being is that our IP address may change without notice. You can connect using either http:// or https:// - the latter is recommended.

When receiving HTTP(S) posts, we recommend that you ping our domain name first to find out our current IP address. Compare the network address (the first 3 parts of an IP address) to the network address that is posting to you and if they match, you can continue happily. This can be achieved in PHP by using the gethostbyname() function, the explode() function and the reserved variable: $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'].
